Adoption Procedures

**BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION, PLEASE CONFIRM THAT THE CAT(S) OF INTEREST IS/ARE STILL AVAILABLE BY CHECKING OUR INSTAGRAM HIGHLIGHTS @LIFELINECATS.

1. Complete application (button below) and submit home pictures to admin@felinelifeline.org showing the room where cat(s) will acclimate, windows with screens in place, doors to exterior, and any outdoor spaces to which the cat(s) may have access. Please also include photos of other pets if applicable. Your application is not considered complete until the photos have been received.

2. If your application is approved, we will reach out to schedule a meet and greet. Please make sure all household decision-makers are present at the meet and greet, as we are not able to offer second visits. We kindly ask that you do not bring friends or family members who do not reside with you.

3. If at or after the meet and greet you decide to move forward, we’ll send you a supply list, a blank copy of the adoption contract to review, and a link to pay a $100 deposit toward the adoption fee. Upon receipt of the deposit we mark the cat(s) as adopted, cancel future meet and greets, and reserve them for you. Please note: Unless by prior arrangement, cats do not go home from meet and greets. Pick up occurs within a week of the meet and greet OR within a week of the cat’s surgical date in the event of a pre-adoption.

4. At pick up, we collect the balance of the adoption fee (an additional $150 per kitten or $100 per cat older than 6 months) and execute the adoption contract. You receive your cat(s), a copy of the contract, and a complete copy of their medical records. Please note that all cats and kittens come vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, FIV/FeLV tested, and spayed/neutered.

**For their well-being (and to prevent Single Kitten Syndrome - you can read more about that on our Resources page) kittens younger than 6 months old go in pairs OR to homes where there is already at least one other young cat.
