Meet CIARA MEWLLER!

Beautiful, poised, and initially a little difficult to read, Ciara has spent the better part of the past year navigating an unusually eventful season.

Rescued from a carport in Whittier with six kittens in late April, she arrived barely out of kittenhood herself and already responsible for an entire cast. For months, motherhood consumed the plot. She raised her babies, saw them safely through weaning, and then began the slower business of recovering from pregnancy, nursing, and the considerable physical demands of keeping six small dependents alive.

Now, at a year and a half old, the children are grown, the Summer House has emptied, and Ciara is finally free to concentrate on her own character development.

Life outdoors taught her caution, and she does not dispense trust simply because the humans around her would like it. But beneath that reserve is an exceptionally gentle, docile cat whose world has been steadily expanding. Each week brings some small act of courage: lingering closer, accepting more affection, retreating less quickly, deciding that perhaps the humans in the room deserve another chance.

The transformation is already underway; it simply isn’t finished.

Which seems appropriate, because Ciara has apparently moved directly from Summer House into her Dancing with the Stars era. She knows the steps are there. What she needs is a patient partner willing to let her find the rhythm rather than dragging her across the floor.

Ciara will not be the instant-gratification adoption. She needs someone capable of appreciating that trust earned slowly can be extraordinarily meaningful — and willing to give her the time and security to become the cat she is increasingly showing us she can be.

After surviving outdoors, raising six kittens, and spending months putting everyone else’s needs ahead of her own, Ciara is finally ready for a season in which she gets to be the main character.

Preferably one with considerably less drama and a permanent address.

Ciara is vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, FIV/FeLV negative, and spayed.
