Gumbo
This is GUMBO. This beautiful flame point Siamese came to us by way of a trapper in Hawthorne, whose trap he eagerly entered one October evening. After his neuter the following day, however, this wise young lad refused to leave. Even when she tipped the trap upright and tried to shoo him out with her hand, Gumbo didn't budge, instead clinging to the sides for dear life. Taking it as a sign that he must be built for the sheets and not the streets, she halted eviction proceedings, brought him home, and set about finding a rescue to take him.
Well if there is one thing the trapper got right, it’s that this fella is ill-suited for life outdoors. Docile, sweet, and afraid of his own shadow, Gumbo likely wasn't going to be able to catch a meal out there on his own, let alone a break in a paw-to-paw with a tomcat.
When he is not curled up in the comfort and safety of his hidey hole, Gumbo enjoys ear skritches and belly rubs, and possesses a most impressive motor which turns on within two seconds of contact. That said, he is still quite timid and reluctant to initiate interaction, even though he so clearly enjoys it. Therefore, he’ll need a patient adopter who is willing to work to earn his trust and continue to coax him out of his shell.
Gumbo is vaccinated (rabies and FVRCP), microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, neutered, and waiting for you to show him how scary the world isn’t. Our vet estimates that he is 6-7 months old.
