Meet REMUS MEWPIN!
Named after one of Hogwarts’ most beloved professors, this handsome 6-month-old snowshoe has already discovered that life can be surprisingly unfair when you’re blamed for problems you didn’t create.
Once owned and presumably loved, Remus recently found himself exiled to a crate in the garage after playing a little too enthusiastically with a young child. Rather than recognizing that a young, energetic kitten might benefit from enrichment, structure, and - most importantly - another cat to help teach him proper social skills, his humans opted for a less sophisticated solution: isolation. From there, Remus graduated from family pet to unwanted inconvenience and was ultimately discarded altogether.
Which brings us to the topic of Single Kitten Syndrome.
Kittens are not born knowing how hard is too hard when it comes to wrestling, pouncing, biting, and generally behaving like tiny furry chaos goblins. They learn those lessons from other cats. A feline friend teaches boundaries, manners, and the valuable principle that if you body-slam someone during a disagreement, there may be consequences. Humans, despite our many accomplishments, are not particularly effective substitutes for this educational process. Neither are dogs.
Affectionate, intelligent, and athletic, Remus is absolutely thrilled by the prospect of aggressive play. Wand toys, chase games, wrestling matches, climbing expeditions, and general mayhem are all very much on the agenda. What he needs is another young, confident cat who enjoys rough-and-tumble play and can continue helping him develop the social skills every kitten deserves to learn.
Much like Remus Lupin himself, this Remus is kind-hearted, misunderstood, and paying the price for circumstances beyond his control. Also like his namesake, he would greatly benefit from spending time with members of his own species.
Therefore, Remus is not a candidate for life as an only cat. He needs a friend, a mentor, a wrestling partner, and perhaps his own version of the Marauders.
Remus is vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, FIV/FeLV negative, and neutered.
