The Widow’s Bay

Kittens

Meet PURRTRICIA MOYER, EVAN LOFTHISS, RUTH 9 LIVINGSTON, WYCK CLAWFORD, TOM LOFTHISS, & SHERIFF CLAWMONS!

Rescued from an abandoned garage in Venice - which is approximately three ominous fog banks and one inexplicable maritime legend away from being the opening scene of Widow’s Bay - these six flooftastic survivors have already experienced enough dubious real estate, mysterious circumstances, and spectacularly inadequate adult supervision for one lifetime. Fortunately, unlike the residents of their namesake island, they had the good sense to get out.

PURRTRICIA MOYER: Purrtricia has the formidable enthusiasm of someone who hears “terrible idea” and immediately asks whether there’s room for one more. Gregarious, curious, and constitutionally incapable of minding her own business, she wants to know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, whether snacks are involved, and why nobody consulted her beforehand. Whatever catastrophe is currently developing, Purrtricia will be nearby providing moral support, unsolicited assistance, and absolutely no meaningful risk assessment.

EVAN LOFTHISS: Evan has the weary expression of someone who was born eight weeks ago and is already profoundly disappointed by institutional leadership. While the adults debate whether anything unusual is happening, Evan has reviewed the evidence, reached the obvious conclusion, and would now like to be excluded from the narrative. He is affectionate, playful, and perfectly happy to participate in household chaos provided nobody expects him to pretend it constitutes responsible governance.

RUTH 9 LIVINGSTON: Ruth has the unnerving composure of someone who knows considerably more than she is willing to disclose. Sweet, observant, and suspiciously innocent-looking, she can sit quietly surveying the room while everyone else descends into chaos, giving you just enough time to wonder whether she predicted the chaos, caused the chaos, or simply decided it would be funnier not to intervene. If Ruth starts staring intently into the middle distance, don’t ask questions. Just follow her.

WYCK CLAWFORD: Wyck is the kitten most likely to notice the supernatural threat while everyone else is still discussing zoning permits. He watches. He calculates. He occasionally stares at apparently empty corners with sufficient intensity to make you reconsider every assumption you have ever made about the spirit world. You may laugh at Wyck’s suspicions now, but when the lights flicker and the fog rolls in, suddenly everybody wants to know what Wyck saw.

TOM LOFTHISS: Like Mayor Tom Loftis, Tom Lofthiss remains stubbornly committed to the proposition that everything is completely under control despite an increasingly persuasive body of evidence to the contrary. Strange noises from the hallway? Normal. Unidentified object demolished overnight? Routine municipal maintenance. Five other kittens stampeding through the house like an approaching supernatural event? Excellent news for tourism. Tom doesn’t deny reality so much as enthusiastically rebrand it.

SHERIFF CLAWMONS: Somebody has to maintain law and order around here, and Sheriff Clawmons has graciously appointed himself despite possessing neither jurisdiction nor meaningful respect for due process. He patrols the perimeter, investigates suspicious noises, conducts warrantless searches of grocery bags, and routinely detains feather toys on charges that remain unclear. Although his clearance rate is terrible, morale has never been higher.

The Widow’s Bay kittens will be delivered vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, FIV/FeLV tested, and spayed/neutered.
